1968 Mustang Fastback "Bullitt" movie car replica

Professional quality build done in California over a four year period in the early 2000's. Built as a Pro Touring car with extensive attention to detail, functionality and roadability. Was featured in a two page center spread article in the April 2004 issue of Mustang Monthly magazine. Mustang Club Of America (MCA) First Place Award - West Coast Nationals 2007. This is not some amateur project with a few parts thrown at it and painted Highland Green! Unlike many such replicas, this one is engineered to be driven and does that very well!

The base vehicle is a no rust "C" code '68 fastback. Completely metal finished with no plastic filler used. Five coats of Highland Green paint followed my several layers of clear. All exterior trim is either new, replated or polished. New glass throughout.

Windsor engine stroked to 427 ci, built by a professional shop, 5 speed manual with Hurst, 9 inch rear with Tru Track 3:55 ratio and 31 spline axles. American 200S wheels, four wheel stainless steel brakes, Ceramic headers into a full under the car 2-1/2 inch diameter dual exhaust system. Suspension reworked with braced shock towers, Monte Carlo Bar, coil over shocks, power rack and pinion steering, custom upper and lower control arms, subframe connectors and lowered vehicle stance with early Shelby geometry, Fender lips rolled for tire clearance.

Comfort and convenience equipment includes Recaro seats with modern retractable restraint system and five point racing belt systems, roll bar with detachable cross bar for rear seat access, custom white face dash instruments and gauges, billet style pedals, tilt steering with custom wood wheel, integral air conditioning, upper and lower consoles, power windows and high power stereo with radio, 5 CD and cassette player with trunk mounted amplifier into a four speaker system. Power antenna.

Aluminum radiator with auxiliary electric cooling fans, 22 gallon fuel tank, trunk mounted battery with built in tender, hidden wiring throughout, master power disconnect switch and alarm system.

Still many more features and equipment - see build sheets below, plus cost summary. The build ten years ago exceeded $88,000 not including the owner's labor, who did most of the work. The cost summary is backed up by all of the original receipts. The fit and finish on this Bullitt is outstanding and despite almost ten years of use, there are no paint or other cosmetic flaws evident.

Detective Frank would enjoy this updated version of his original ride, and you will, too!
